Business consulting that fixes what your last consultant left behind

Most firms we work with have tried advice before. The slide decks were polished, the invoices were prompt, and the problems stayed. We do the opposite: fewer slides, more weeks embedded with your team, and outcomes you can measure in your next quarterly report.

How an engagement actually works

Diagnostic week

We spend five days inside your operation. Not in a boardroom: on the floor, in the systems, beside the people who do the work. By Friday you receive a written diagnosis with three to five root causes, ranked by financial impact.

Scope and pricing

You choose which problems to tackle first. We quote a fixed fee for each one, tied to a defined deliverable and a timeline. No retainers, no open-ended billing.

Embedded delivery

Our consultants work alongside your staff, usually two to three days a week on site. Changes are tested in real workflows before they become permanent. We train your people as we go so the knowledge stays when we leave.

Measurement and handover

At close-out we produce a short report comparing baseline metrics to current performance. You also get a 90-day follow-up call at no extra cost to catch anything that has drifted.

What we actually do

We are not a generalist practice. These five areas are where we have deep, repeated experience and where our track record is strongest.

Operational restructuring

When a company has grown faster than its processes, the cracks show up in late deliveries, duplicated roles and rising overhead. We map the real workflow (not the one on the intranet), identify bottlenecks, and redesign the structure around what the business actually needs today. A typical restructuring engagement runs six to ten weeks.

Recent example: a 120-person logistics firm in Belfast reduced order-processing time by 38% after we consolidated three overlapping teams into one cross-functional unit.

Financial modelling and forecasting

We build models you can actually use: scenario-driven, clearly documented, and handed over in a format your finance team already works with. No black-box spreadsheets. Typical turnaround is two to four weeks depending on complexity.

Leadership alignment

Boards and senior teams that disagree on direction burn cash on internal politics. We facilitate structured sessions that surface the real disagreements, then help the group reach decisions they will actually follow through on. These are typically two-day intensives followed by monthly check-ins.

Growth strategy

Should you enter a new market, launch a product line, or acquire a competitor? We pressure-test the numbers behind each option, interview customers and suppliers, and present a recommendation with clear go/no-go criteria. Expect four to six weeks of analysis.

Post-acquisition integration

The deal closes and the hard part starts. We handle the operational merge: systems consolidation, culture alignment, redundancy planning and communication. Our integration playbook has been used across nine transactions in the past three years.

Selected results

Distribution centre aerial view

Regional distribution company, County Antrim

£1.7m annual saving within 14 weeks

Three overlapping fulfilment processes were consolidated into one. Staff redeployment (not redundancy) freed up capacity for a new contract the company had previously turned down due to lack of bandwidth.

Fintech office interior

Fintech start-up, London

Series B secured after board realignment

The founding team disagreed on product direction, which investors noticed. Two facilitated sessions clarified the roadmap. The revised pitch closed a £6m round within eight weeks of our final session.

Manufacturing production line

Precision engineering firm, Midlands

Scrap rate down from 7.2% to 2.1%

Root-cause analysis traced waste to a single calibration step that operators had been skipping under time pressure. A revised scheduling template and a 15-minute daily stand-up solved the problem without any capital expenditure.

Small restaurant on a UK high street

Hospitality group, Northern Ireland

Break-even reached 5 months ahead of forecast

A four-site restaurant group was losing money on two locations. We rebuilt the P&L model per site, renegotiated supplier terms and adjusted staffing rotas. Both sites reached break-even by month seven instead of month twelve.

Questions we hear often

How much does an engagement cost?

It depends on scope. The diagnostic week is £3,500 plus VAT. After that, each workstream is quoted individually at a fixed price. Most engagements fall between £8,000 and £45,000 in total. We will never bill you for time you did not agree to in advance.

Do you work with small businesses or only larger firms?

Our clients range from 15-person family businesses to divisions of FTSE 250 companies. The common factor is a willingness to act on findings, not company size. If you have fewer than ten employees, we may not be the right fit simply because the overhead of a consulting engagement can outweigh the benefit at that scale.

How quickly can you start?

We typically have capacity to begin a diagnostic within two to three weeks of first contact. Delivery timelines vary by project, but we will give you a calendar at the scoping stage so you know exactly when to expect each milestone.

Will you replace our existing management team?

No. We work with the people you already have. If we identify a skills gap, we will recommend training or a specific hire, but we do not place interim managers or compete with recruitment firms.

What happens if the project does not deliver the expected results?

Every engagement has defined success metrics agreed before work begins. If we are not on track at the midpoint review, we adjust the approach at no extra charge. We have never walked away from a project without delivering at least the core outcome.

Can you work remotely or do you need to be on site?

The diagnostic week is always on site. After that, most delivery work is a mix: two or three days per week with your team, the rest remote. Fully remote engagements are possible for financial modelling and strategy projects where the data can be shared securely.

Start with a conversation

Tell us what is going on. We will reply within one working day, usually sooner. If it sounds like something we can help with, we will suggest a 30-minute call to scope the problem before anyone commits to anything.
